Start by putting the edge of an aluminum rectangle on the front bumper as shown in the photo. The aluminum has a DULL side and a shiny side. Put the shiny side down and the dull side up.  Paint adheres a little better to the dull side and if any shows, it won't look like a mirror is under the paint.
