STRUCTURE BUILDING - The Foamcore/Veneer method
An OnLine Clinic presented by HORAILROAD.COM
With the walls and windows completed I get the lights into the building. This picture shows you just how "UN-SQUARE" the structure is, perfect for an odd shaped lot.
I like to have only two wires leaving the building, so I wire all lights in the building to a power bus. With only two bulbs in this small structure its not that big a deal, but in a larger building with several bulbs the power bus really comes in handy.
Here I cut a square hole in the foam core and inserted two heavy (#14) copper wires. I hot glue the ends to keep them separated and in position. Soldering could melt the foam core so the hot glue is a precaution in case I get heavy handed with the soldering iron. The lights are hot glued in position and then the wires are trimmed and soldered to the bus. 2 wires from the power supply are then soldered to the bus bars.

In this picture you can also see that I've glued in some strips to hold the roof on.
