FAST CHIMNEYS - Finish your roof tops
An OnLine Clinic presented by HORAILROAD.COM
With the metal straight edge aligned on the top and bottom marks I'm ready to cut a column of brick.
I suggest using a new blade or one with very little wear so you get a good edge.  A dull blade also tends to "pull" the plastic from under the metal edge and you could get a slight curve that will show up when you try to assemble the chimney.

A good cutting mat will protect the surface you are working on. (Any wonder how many relationships have ended over "modeling scars" on the table tops!)
The mat will also extend the life of your blades.
