Discover Scale Model Railroading at
FAST CHIMNEYS - Finish your roof tops
An OnLine Clinic presented by HORAILROAD.COM
After a good test fit on the roof, we do a little painting to hide the white styrene tube. I used the same dark gray, almost black, paint that was used for the mortar lines.

A real black color could also be used.

I only paint down into the tube about a quarter of an inch because the rest is unseen. I also paint the top edge but not the face of any brick. To "dirty" the upper rows of brick with "creosote" I personally prefer artists chalk. Optionally, "dry brushing" can
be used.

(Chalks and Dry Brush techniques are not
covered in the clinic.)
