After a good test fit on the roof,
we do a little painting to
hide the white styrene tube. I used the same dark gray, almost
black, paint that was used for the mortar lines.
A real black color could also be used.
I only paint down into the tube about a quarter of an inch
because the rest is unseen. I also paint the top edge but not
the face of any brick. To "dirty" the upper rows of
brick with "creosote" I personally prefer artists
chalk. Optionally, "dry brushing" can
be used.
