Painting the Roofing.
With the roof scored to show seams, Paint the roof Charcoal Gray.
Black is not recommended unless you are going to have some HO scale
men installing it. Even new roofing fades from black very
quickly. The underside of the roof will be seen around the edges so
begin by painting about a quarter of an inch around the underside.
